Appreciating Our Employees

An Update on Employee Appreciation Day 2022

Thank you

At the beginning of last month, we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day 2022. You might remember that we put together a blog post full of ideas on how you could show appreciation to your employees. Did you use any of them?

We have around 900 employees at Rapid, a small percentage of which are based at our head office in Wokingham, Berkshire. The majority are either moving around from site to site looking after our cleaners and customers, or working hard on site actually doing the cleaning. As you can imagine, it wasn't easy trying to think of ways to ensure that the whole team felt appreciated for their hard work.

A Celebratory Breakfast

Our head office team was treated to a buffet breakfast on arrival. Each person was given a small present and a personalised Thank You card from the two directors, Jeff and Paul.

A Thank You Video and a Competition

Our cleaning team is spread across the whole of the south of England. For ease, we decided to send every cleaner an email including a thank you video message from Jeff, our Managing Director. Within that email there was the chance for all cleaning operatives to win a cash prize.

The worthy winner was Bernard, who has been working for Rapid since 2018 and cleans five of our customer sites! When asked what they appreciate about working for Rapid, we received some amazing feedback from our cleaners...

"Rapid Clean is a great company. Very good on payment and if you call there is someone to talk to"

 "They care about their staff"

"Flexibility in terms of working hours"

"I appreciate the company's dedication to delivering a high standard clean to all their clients"

 "I'm listened to"

"My Contracts Manager is so lovely and approachable"

"Diversity and Inclusion"

"They care about their staff"

"The kind support and advice I receive"

"The communication - very clear where/when you are working"

We also asked everyone to let us know what we could do to improve as an employer; our HR department is working through these and coming up with some actions. Our last Employee Survey highlighted some requests for better communication, so we were pleased to see this come up in the list of things that people appreciated 😊.

Last but Not Least

And finally, we have given a small budget to all of our Operations Managers to take their Contracts Managers out to thank them personally for all that they do to ensure cleaners are looked after and contracts are running smoothly. We hope to share some of the photographs in due course!
